Spring and autumn merge with winter and comprise a mild wet season from December to February. Daytime temperatures in November still average around 20°C which gradually decreases to a cool but not freezing 13°C in January, Marmaris’s coldest month. The evenings can get down to 13°C throughout October after which it gets steadily colder, reaching a night time average of 5°C in January and February. The night time temperature creeps up through March and May when it is around 13°C, then jumps up to 18°C in June. Midwinter temperatures are possibly too cool for a real beach holiday, though mild enough to be in a t-shirt in the sun, and might be a better time for exploring the area. Tanning and swimming are still possible but for reduced periods in the day. Heavy rains occur, usually restricted to intense bursts, which rarely could cause flash floods in prone areas. December is the wettest month.Marmaris crowns the meeting place of the Mediterranean and Agean seas. Its surrounding mountains retain much of the heat of the day and shelter the bay turning Marmaris into a suntrap. The resort is a chosen destination for holiday-makers year round.
