The great leader Atatürk is resting beneath the most important and
magnificent place in the mausoleum known as the
Hall of Honor. The ceiling and sides walls of twenty meter high Hall
of Honor are covered with marble from Bilecik.
The other types of marble on the ceiling and wallsof the mausoleum
come from various section of the country.
The forty ton sarcophagus was brought from the Osmaniye region of
Adana. This hall is the place where visitors,
by far the Turkish nation and including foreign statesmen and their
delegations, pay their respectst to Atatürk. |
